To apply to join the junior section of the credit union a junior membership form must be completed and brought into one of the collection points. ( see junior membership application form on the forms link) If a child is under 7 years of age then a parent or sponsor must open the account on the junior members behalf. This in effect gives the responsiblity of the account to the parent or sponsor, this becomes optional if the child is aged 7 years or over . A sponsor can be any adult, ie. parent, guardian, grandparent, aunt, etc. A junior members' account can be used to save pocket money on a regular basis or cash that may be received as presents or gifts. On joining, the junior member will receive their own pass book so that they can see their savings grow. Each year a dividend is paid which is automaticaly added to the balance of the junior members savings account. There is no minimum limit on how much can be saved. If the junior member is under 7 years of age then a parent / guardian will be required to sign withdrawal requests. Withdrawals require 7 days notice. Parents / Sponsors can set up a bank standing order to credit the junior members account. (please see the bank standing order mandate on the forms link).click junior news letter click here
